School's Walk

Rules

The following rules must be observed by all participants:

  1. The event is open to all age groups - all walkers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the walk.

  2. All participants must pay a non-tax deductible, non-refundable registration fee to enter the event (click here for fee structure).

  3. All adult participants (18 years and older) must raise a minimum fundraising gift of $200 for the charity. Teenagers (12 to 17 years old) must raise $50. Walkers younger than 12 are exempt from fundraising.

  4. Any change in the formation of your team must be communicated to the staff at the start. No team changes will be allowed once the event is underway.

  5. The provided event bib must be worn and clearly displayed at all times during the event.

  6. Each participant enters the event knowing that they are responsible for their own safety while on the trail.

  7. In the course of the event, each participant must check in with event staff at each of the pitstops located along the trail and at the Finish.

  8. Any participant who is injured or falls ill on the trail must notify the event organisers by calling the emergency number listed on the reverse side of their bibs.

  9. If a participant wants to withdraw from the event at a Pitstop, they must advise the staff working at the Pitstop.

  10. If a participant wants to withdraw the event while between Pitstops, they must either report to the nearest Pitstop, or alternatively, contact the organisers by calling the emergency number listed on the reverse side of their bibs with their location and then advise that they are exiting the event.

  11. A participant will be disqualified from the event if they have not departed a Pitstop by its closing time.

  12. Participants and support crews should respect the environment and plan to take their rubbish with them.

  13. Parks Victoria regulations do not permit smoking in their parks or on the trail.

  14. Parks Victoria do not permit dogs in their parks located within the Dandenong Ranges (leashed dogs are permitted on the Dandenong Creek Trail in and around Jells Park). Consult Parks Victoria for more information.
